[ #musik ] Summer of Love - Eine Hymne

Der Sommer 1967 wurde von vielen aktiven Gruppen und Bands als der "Summer of Love" ausgerufen.

Dieser "Sommer" begann bereits mitten im Winter mit dem Human Be-In, einem Happening, das am 14. Januar im Golden Gate Park stattfand.

Es war eine rauschende Party mit psychedelischer Musik, kostenlosen LSD-Trips und friedlichem Beisammensein. Es war der Anfang von unzähligen "Sit-In", "Be-In" und "Love-In". Unter den Teilnehmern befanden sich Timothy Leary, Allen Ginsberg und Jefferson Airplane. Tausende junge Leute versammelten sich im Stadtteil Haight-Ashbury von San Francisco und folgten ihren Träumen von einer besseren Welt. Haight Ashbury gilt als die Geburtsstätte der amerikanischen Hippiebewegung. Die Welt beobachtete das Phänomen einer ganz neuen farbigen und exotischen Kultur, sowohl in der Musik, in der Kunst, in der Kleidung und nicht zuletzt eben auch in der Haartracht. Berühmtheiten wie Scott McKenzie und The Byrds sangen vor hunderttausenden Hippies.
